Mahindra’s March 2025 Sales Surge by 23% – Record SUV Growth


Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), one of India’s most renowned automotive giants, has reported impressive growth in its sales for March 2025. The company sold a total of 83,894 vehicles during the month, marking a solid 23% increase compared to the same period last year. In the SUV segment alone, Mahindra’s domestic sales stood at 48,048 units, reflecting an 18% growth. Including exports, the total SUV sales reached 50,835 units. Commercial vehicle sales were also strong, with 23,951 units sold in the domestic market.

For the fiscal year 2024-25, Mahindra recorded its best-ever SUV sales, crossing the 5.5 lakh mark with a 20% year-on-year growth. The company also achieved a milestone in its Vahan registrations, which saw a 20% growth, helping them maintain healthy inventory levels at dealerships. These achievements helped Mahindra hold onto its position as the number one SUV player in India and the second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer by revenue.

One of the key highlights for Mahindra in the year was its significant progress in international markets. The company’s export operations grew by 41%, demonstrating its increasing global footprint. Furthermore, Mahindra became the first Indian automobile manufacturer to achieve the prestigious DJSI Index world leader status.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at Mahindra, shared his excitement about the growth, stating that March 2025 saw remarkable sales with a strong demand for their Electric Origin SUVs. He emphasized that the company finished the year on a high note, with over 5 lakh SUVs sold in the domestic market for the first time ever, signaling a bright future for Mahindra’s automotive division.

These achievements underscore Mahindra’s consistent effort to deliver high-quality vehicles and maintain strong demand, both in India and globally. The company’s focus on innovation, particularly with electric vehicles, and its expanding presence in international markets, continues to set it apart as a key player in the automotive sector.
